It is suspected that the kob caught at Flamingo lodge in Angola are a seperate species from the silver and dusky kob of southern African waters. They do, however, grow to an impressive size and are popular targets on the Angolan coast. External differences include a "taller" dorsal fin and differences in the shape of the tail fin.
