Namibia
This is a vast and sparsely populated country and is situated along the southern Atlantic coast of Africa. The Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, stretches along the west coast of the country, while the Kalahari Desert runs along its south-eastern border with Botswana. The Caprivi Strip in the north-eastern corner of the country is bounded by the Chobe and the Zambezi Rivers and these systems are famous for their tigerfish, nembwe, other bream species and barbel. Rock and surf and skiboat angling is also popular along the coast and the commonly targeted species are galjoen, silver kob, blacktail, west coast steenbras, bronze whaler sharks, cow sharks and spotted gully sharks. |
